With less than 3 minutes to go and Canada down by 2 goals I had lost hope. I tightly held onto my remote as precious seconds ticked away. With no hope in sight, out of no where, Mr. Miracle Eberle directed the puck into the American net. I leaped off my 2 foot high onto the ground in celebration. But amidst this craziness I realized Canada still needed another goal to force overtime. Guess what? A minute later he did it again. The score now read 5-5. Unbelievable. Eberly had once again slapped god across the face and created a miracle. Edmonton Oilers Prospect has cemented his reputation as a top class clutch player. This goal also pushed him past John Tavares for all-time scoring lead. Unfortunately, this miraculous effort was in vain as Americans dropped a nuclear bomb on Canadian hearts in overtime.
We may not have won the gold medal but what we got was a comeback which will be talked about forever. Respect to the Canadian Team, especially Eberle, for their efforts.
Don’t worry guys. Let’s focus on the big one now – THE OLYMPICS.
